Co-Habitations Family Workshops

Join our Co-Habitations program specially curated for families and children. In various workshops you will learn exciting experiments, techniques and games that always relate to our environment and promote understanding of and reflection on it.

Family Workshop: “Human Partnership with the Plant Kingdom” with artist Ishita Chakraborty
Plants need sun, water and air to grow, just as we need food and water to live. In a special process called cyanotype, we use the power of the sun to image the plant. It's like taking a photograph with sunlight!

Saturday, 1 July, 2–4pm
Wilder Platz, Zollstrasse 99, 8005 Zürich

Family Workshop: "The Essence Of The Day": Destilling Flower Water (Hydrosols) with the artists Lisa Biedlingmaier, Corinna Mattner und Maya Minder
We "distill" the essence of a place by collecting the plants that grow in the area, sorting them by their healing categories or active ingredients, and then actually extract floral waters.

Saturday, 2 September, 11am–3pm
Wilder Platz, Zollstrasse 99, 8005 Zürich

Workshop for children: "Traditional street games" with the artist Yusuf Orhan, accompanied by the art mediator Alexandra Eichenauer
What games did children play a century ago? What kind of toys did they have? What did their playgrounds look like? In this workshop, Yusuf Orhan plays four traditional games that he brought back from Anatolia with the children. He offers them a highly entertaining experience and encourages them to rethink the phenomenon of play.
