On July 5 2024 we said goodbye to Löwenbräukunst after 4 years of calling it our home. We became nomadic but remain active.
Amongst other projects, we are currently collaborating with the University of Zürich and the Botanical Garden for a performance series. Keep an eye on our events to stay up to date.
The Botanical Garden in Seefeld with its futuristic domed show house invites you to visit its fascinating variety of plants of around
7000 different species. It is a place of relaxation and inspiration, but also a place of learning and research. It shows the diversity from different climate zones of the world, from the tropics to the alpine climate zones of the world.
Accessibility
The Höschgasse and Hegibachplatz tram stops are located close to the New Botanical Garden of the University of Zurich. Access from the tram stops is rather difficult with a manually operated wheelchair due to the incline.
Disabled toilets are located near the Tropical Houses.
Only assistance dogs are allowed in the park.
Please note that some of the paths inside the domes of the show houses have a gradient of over 6% and are therefore outside the standard areas.
The floor in the Tropical Show House can also be damp and slippery.
A member of the team is on site and will be happy to provide assistance if required.
The Old Botanical Garden is located in the centre of Zurich. It was laid out in 1837 and today impresses with its collection of exotic and old trees. The octagonal palm house was built from wood and glass in 1851 and replaced by a cast iron one in 1877. Today it is mainly used for concerts, theatre and exhibitions. In 1977, the Botanical Garden on Zollikerstrasse was reopened in 1977, but the Old Botanical Garden is still maintained by the UZH Botanical Garden team.
Accessibility
The nearest tram stop is ‘Sihlstrasse’. The entrance is at Pelikanstrasse 40, follow the signs to the pavilion, there is a barrier-free path for wheelchair users, but it is relatively long. There are gender-segregated toilets at the pavilion, but unfortunately there are no toilets for wheelchair users. During the opening hours of the Museum of Ethnology is open, wheelchair users can use the toilets there.
