River Tones: An Interactive Sound Walk in collaboration with “guerilla classics”
Saturday, August 30, 2025 / 11:00 – 13:00
Wehrenbach, meeting point: Migros “Burgwies”, 8032 Zürich
Registration: Eventbrite
A sonic walk along the Wehrenbach with musician Andres Bosshard, artist and flutist Melody Chua, and voice artist Constanza Pellicci. Sound and movement merge into a fleeting fabric of stories, tones, and water. Chua weaves delicate flute lines through the riverscape, while Pellicci responds to the flow with voice and breath – whispering, humming, like an echo of the current. Bosshard guides the act of listening, sharing stories of the river and tuning into its swirling eddies. This walk invites participants to rediscover the river through the soundscape. Impressions and experiences from the walk will contribute to a collective glossary entry as part of the River Landscapes project.
In case of bad weather, the workshop will take place on Sunday, August 31.
About the River Landscapes Project
River Landscapes: A New Glossary is a transdisciplinary project exploring Swiss rivers as ecological and cultural landscapes. Through workshops, fieldwork, and collective reflection, participants co-create glossary entries that weave together artistic, scientific, and local knowledge. The glossary—published as an open-source format—includes language, images, sounds, and stories that reimagine rivers not as controllable resources, but as vibrant, more-than-human ecosystems. The project will culminate in a public presentation series on a boat along the Limmat in 2026.
The workshop “River Tones” will also be part of an accompanying research on transdisciplinary projects. Further information will be provided on-site.
