Book workshop – David Graeber, Debt: the first 5000 Years
By the Book Club of Plurale Ökonomik Zürich.
Speakers: Krzysztof Cybulski, Mario Stepanik.
Anthropologist David Graeber’s book offers a thorough look at the history of human economic relationships. It argues that our modern economy, with its tendency for inhumane hierarchies and harm to the environment, is not an unavoidable consequence of human nature. In this workshop, we will discuss key conclusions of the book, focusing on examples from history that illustrate how societies of the past can help us solve problems of the present.
If you want to prepare (optional): The first chapter of the book is an interesting teaser and outlines the significance of the topic.
The event is free of charge and the conversation will be held in English.
