Alicia Framis (b. 1967, Barcelona, Spain) takes an artistic approach that borrows heavily from her other passions of architecture, design and fashion. Her elaborate works and performances are often solution-oriented approaches to addressing actual existing problems in society. The performance 'IS MY BODY PUBLIC?' thinks about the reality of women's lives on a philosophical level. The privacy of one's own body, covered only with transparent tulle fabric, is put on display. The women translate the provocative question into their mother tongue and thus send the protest beyond the place of the happening into the partly repressive countries of origin.
